Paraton@ir is a lightning rod combining the high protection performance of ESE (Early Streamer Emitter) technologies and the most innovative remote management solutions to ensure permanent protection of your LPS (Lightning Protection System) throughout the operating life of the Air Terminal.
This connected device allow to facilitate and reduce maintenance cost by performing remote diagnostic, online monitoring & warning by email in case of lightning strike event on your LPS.
Contact@ir is a radio transmitter which allows testing remotely the ESE Terminal.
Equipped with a photovoltaic cell "low light energy", “Contactair” needs only 3 hours of light per day to work 24h / 24 and perform 1 diagnostic every 100 seconds.
This diagnosis is forwarded by radio frequency to “Contact@ir System” receiver which must be on site.
Contact@ir System is a remote management solution developed by LPS France in order to support preventive and corrective maintenance operation on lightning protection system.
This technology allows testing lightning rod remotely without climb on the roof anymore.
This diagnostic report is forward on dedicated server to perform online monitoring and find all the information regarding LPS installation, products features and maintenance history.
Contact @ir System allows warning in real time by email alerts when your installation is struck by lightning. This information sent to final user and installer will support corrective action on the lightning protection system and ensure permanent protection.

Years of experiments and numerous tests in laboratory and in real-world lightning conditions were necessary to develop this air terminal.
Paraton@ir is inspired by recent advances in understanding of lightning, electromagnetism, high voltage and fluid mechanics effects.
An aluminium alloy and polymeric materials form the major part of the lightning rod. Without any fragile priming system, Paraton@ir have been designed to become the most reliable and sustainable product of the market.
1- Ionization of Paraton@ir :
The “charger” is designed to accumulate natural ions from the ground and drive them to the “Central Inductive System”. This accumulation happens in the same proportion as the increase of power of the ambient electric field.
2- Paraton@ir creates an electric field on a tremendous scale:
At the same time, the “Central Inductive System”, “voltage Booster” will concentrate ions to the harness head. “Priming Poles” will stimulate this process and allow creation of upward tracer which becomes the preferential impact point.
3- Harnessing and conduction by Paraton@ir :
The priming system attracts the upward tracer and creates ‘the “lightning strike conditions”. Then the “harness tip” leads the lightning current through its axis toward down-conductors.
Paraton@ir is available with a range of 4 different advance levels (Δt) measured in micro seconds (μs). P10 ; P25 ; P45 & P60 :

A lightning protection study must be carried out in order to define positioning and select the appropriate level of protection.
The protection level selected (From I to IV) must consider the lightning map activity, the nature of the building (Commercial buildings, School, Chemical industry…) and its attendance (Private, public).
